Bake Me A Wish
One of the nicest ladies I know is everything to everybody. At church she sings in the choir, is active in other groups, and is always willing to take her turn to host an event. She is one person who comes to mind that deserves something special, like a gourmet cake.
She is a very dedicated employee and works a lot of overtime at her job. Her boss cringes at the mere thought of ever losing her, and her customers feel the same way. The place would be in shambles if she were to leave and they all know it, but also know she’s devoted to her work so they have nothing to fear. Surprising her with a gourmet cake would bring tears to her eyes . . .she never thinks about herself.
Her husband adores her and has a cute pet name for her that all of their friends are very familiar with. She spends countless hours in her garden, planting, weeding, pruning and picking fruits and vegetables to can or freeze and spoils her husband rotten with her incredible home made cooking. (That’s alright because he’s as nice as she is.) He’d be delighted to surprise her with a luscious gourmet cake.
She is a devoted mother and grandmother, traveling many hours to spend time with her children and grandchildren as often as she can. When it’s time to say good-bye, they beg her not to go, as she assures them she doesn’t want to leave their side, but will be back before they know it.
No one could ask for a better friend. She listens and truly hears;empathizes and comforts your aching soul; laughs and cries with you. She truly cares and it shows as hugs are freely given and returned. She would wonder what she did to deserve a gourmet cake . . .that’s just how she is.
What a blessing to have such a special friend who smiles the moment you walk into the room, who always has a cheery, “Hello,” arms extended with that welcoming hug. My wish is that I could be an extra special friend to her in her time of need, whenever that may be, giving back just a portion of what she gives to those around her, unconditional love – and a special gourmet cake, “just because.”
The Bake Me A Wish! gourmet cake is baked with the freshest ingredients by our award winning New York City bakery. Each cake is adorned with a decorative chocolate plaque imported from Belgium and includes a greeting card. 5% of your order will be contributed to Bake Me A Wish!’s Operation: Birthday Cake, which, with our partner Soldiers’ Angels, donates birthday cakes each month to soldiers overseas.
