Caraway Cabbage

Ingredients:

4 cups cabbage, shredded
2 cups apples, chopped
1 cup onion, chopped
1 tsp. instant beef bouillon
1 tsp. caraway seed
2 Tblsp. water
1 lb. smoked sausage, cooked

In a covered, microwave-safe bowl, place all the ingredients except sausage, and cook on high for 10-15 minutes or until tender, stirring once. Slice sausage into bite-size pieces and add to cabbage mixture; stir gently. Cover and microwave an additional 3 minutes, or until sausage is completely heated. Serves 6

Baked Caramel Apples

It doesn’t get any easier than this delicious dessert recipe. Apples are low in calories and are a good source of fiber. It is said that its sweetness can increase the flow of saliva,reducing tooth decay .

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Ingredients:

6 baking apples, peeled , cored and washed
1 lemon
1 bottle or can of Caramel Topping

Cut lemon in half and rub apples with the lemon to prevent them from turning brown. Place apples in a covered baking dish and bake for about 40 minutes, or until tender. A few minutes before the apples are done baking, gently heat the Caramel Topping in a small bowl in the microwave until warm, not hot.
Serve apples in pretty bowls and pour some warm caramel topping over each one.

Note:For an added treat fill center with nuts and raisens; add a dollop of whipped cream or ice cream. Yummmmm!
