Hawaii Products

Hawaii is The Aloha State. Aloha is the only word that I know of that means both Hello and Goodbye. Hawaii is one of my favorite places to visit, and I’ve been blessed to have the opportunity three times. The first two times were working trips through the company I worked for and was I ever surprised when it was time to pick my rental car up. The agent told me the only cars available were stick shifts. My jaw dropped because I’d never driven a stick shift. My boss, his wife and a few others that worked for the company were getting their rental cars at the same time, so I explained the dilemma to my boss. He just chuckled and replied, “I guess you’ll just have to learn.”
My husband agreed to teach me and thought he should drive and I should watch. Explaining that I learn more from “doing”, he reluctantly gave the driver’s role to me. He was a very good instructor and by the time we left Oahu two weeks later, I felt like I’d been driving a stick shift all my life.
The food in Hawaii is some of the best I’ve ever tasted; Hawaiian Pineapple coconut pancakes and Chocolate macadamia pancakes with Hawaiian organic raw macadamia nut blossom honey oozing over them-mmmmmmm! This honey is a velvety smooth tropical honey made by the Hawaiian Queen Company on the big island of Hawaii. The creaming process they use gives it a thick, rich texture with a taste like no other honey I’ve tasted. Add to this Hawaii’s organic or standard Kona coffee and a side of fresh pineapple you’re in Heaven. The fresh Hawaiian pineapple is so delicious that I had to go back for more, and more.
My job involved doing evaluations in the homes of people who had contacted the company requesting help. Imagine my surprise and delight in the discovery that shoes were not worn in the home. Many homes in Oahu had a plaque outside the front door that read: “Please Remove Your Shoes”, and there were several pairs of shoes lined up on the porch or landing. After two weeks of no shoes in Hawaii, it was difficult to go back to wearing shoes on the job again-back to the mainland and back to reality.
Even though this was a working trip, I was able to have some free time for some fun and relaxation. We swam in the ocean and enjoyed sitting on the patio, sipping on some gourmet whole bean coffee and savoring some decadent Signature Valrona Chocolates from J. Michelle Chocolatiers. The shopping experience was relaxing as well. I found some gift items that wouldn’t take much room in our suitcases; some Hawaii coffee mugs, oven mitts with matching placemats and Hawaii Warriors picnic bag.
What a delightful place this is to visit. My husband and I went for a drive and were able to drive from one side of Honululu to the other in less than an hour. The mountains and the ocean are breathtakingly beautiful. We can’t wait to go back.
