Nebraska, the Cornhusker State,where some of the finest beef in the world is produced. Omaha Steaks is located in Nebraska’s largest city and offers not only prime, juicy steaks, but pasta, seafood, potatoes, veal and taste-tempting desserts. You may want to try some NaturALL prime beef as well.
The pride of Nebraska lies in it’s Cornhusker Football program which is run with integrity and lots of hard work. The University of Nebraska at Lincoln is located in the state’s capital. You will find a sampling of Cornhusker Football items, such as grilling sauces, mugs and,of course, don’t forget the apron when you’re having your tailgating party.
You may be surprised to find some diamonds in the rough when you visit some of the smaller towns in Nebraska. Kearney offers an excellent college in the University of Nebraska at Kearney,and The Arch, which is the only museum built over an interstate highway.
Other sights to put on your traveling agenda are Crawford, the big game capital of Nebraska; McCook, the heart of southwest Nebraska, Schuyler, the pride of rural Nebraska, and Wakefield, the baseball capital of Nebraska. They don’t call it “The Good Life” for nothing.
The state’s third largest city, Grand Island, is where you’ll find the Stuhr Museum, an authentic, working, old western town. The proprietors of the shops are in period costume and are happy to give you an old fashioned demonstration.
The town’s most famous celebrity was Henry Fonda. The Fonda home can be seen here at the museum as it was when the Fonda family lived there. Jane and Peter Fonda show up there on occasion as well.
If you thought Nebraska was just miles and miles of flat land with cornfields,now you know about some of it’s hidden treasures.
